hundreds of keyboards and effects pedals in a tablet. an album as a collection of singles. a sporting event played out in your living room. a combination of film, filters & lenses now available as a small set of digital filters.  none of them are really what they were. and there’s nothing wrong with where we’ve transformed but let’s not say it’s the same or conclude that everything about it is better. i’ve been know to say “what if the telephone was invented after email?” wouldn’t that be rad to hear someone’s voice across distances? it’d be the gift of the season.
